A statement has been posted on Tiger Woods' Web site, TigerWoods.com, formally announcing Woods' public appearance on Friday. Here is what that statement says:
"Tiger Woods will be speaking to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future, and he plans to apologize for his behavior."While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him. He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that's what he's going to discuss.
"His remarks will be open to a press pool for live coverage. It is NOT a news conference."

I am not one who feels that Tiger must come forward with a repetition of each of his escapades and ask forgiveness of the world for his being a “screwed up jerk”. I do feel, however, that if he is going to “allow” us to listen to his “explanation and statement” there should be an open dialogue with the press without allowing salacious questions such as ‘how was it?, what did you do?, etc. For me I think he will be the most embarrassed golfer to return to the links. I will listen and judge for myself what to think and not let others influence me.
One thing is for sure, golf has been less since the great man disappeared. ‘Yes I won, but Tiger wasn’t there’ The first man to stand up and condemn Tiger should think very carefully about his own past indiscretions.
It is sad that he has let us all down in such a disgraceful manner but golf needs him. Let us all enjoy and be inspired by this HUMAN for that is waht he is, and let’s not forget it.
Tiger needs to be humble and come off this highhanded attitude that I seen dsiplayed at the PGA in Tulsa. He has shown an arrogance in his mannerisms and his behaviour on the course. I really don’t care about his marriage situation except for the impact it has on his children who are innocent and completely at their parents mercy. I admire his ability to play the most difficult game in the world, but have very little regard for him personally.
I don’t care what my golf buddies do off the course and I even care less what Tiger does. Let’s get back to golf!
He made mistakes, let the one who is free of sin throw the first stone !
It is a personal thing, let him and his family handle it !!
He needs to do what he feels will make it right.
He is the greatest golfer in the world, so lets get on with it.
What does he HAVE to say? It is his business, and we should respect that. Because he is a public figure we have the right? BULL. If I were him, I would say nothing. Just go back to work. This is America, You have the right to say anything, and also the right to say nothing.
