It's also one of the celebrity pro-ams on the PGA Tour (see poll below), which means the first few days are split over multiple golf courses and will involve some slow play. Queen Latifah was the entertainer at the Classic Ball (a charity fund-raiser on Sunday), but isn't playing golf. Some of the celebs who are playing include actors Anthony Anderson, Oliver Hudson, Kyle McLachlan, Kevin Nealon, Chris O'Donnell, Alfonso Ribeiro and Kurt Russell; numerous athletes; and Dr. Phil. Perhaps Dr. Phil is seeking another career as a golf mental coach.
Among the pro golfers in the field are Duval, Rickie Fowler, Sony Open winner Ryan Palmer, the father-son duo of Craig and Kevin Stadler, defending champ Perez and Sam Saunders. Saunders is Arnold Palmer's grandson and received a sponsor exemption (Grandpa was this tournament's first winner and serves as honorary host). Duval and Fowler are also playing on sponsor exemptions.
