Don't count on Jack Nicklaus jumping on the Tiger-bashing bandwagon. Nicklaus, whose record of 18 career majors Tiger Woods is chasing, hasn't commented publicly on Woods' recent travails. Until today. But he largely didn't take bait when asked about it.
Nicklaus attended an event on Thursday honoring the Florida state championship golf team. Afterward, he was asked if he thought Woods could repair his reputation in the aftermath of his car accident and a spate of alleged and rumored extramarital affairs. "It's none of my business," Nicklaus replied to a Palm Beach Post reporter.
Nicklaus added (as quoted by the AP):
"Our public is pretty forgiving at times. Time usually heals all wounds. I think the hardest thing is obviously his family. That's a private matter for him and his family. ... He's a great athlete. He'll figure it out."See also:
