Ishikawa for the Presidents Cup?
"Ishikawa should definitely get picked. I think he should be guaranteed at this point. ... He's playing well every week, so how can you not pick him? ..."Greg (Norman) has said he's going to go on current form and (Ishikawa is) probably playing better than any of us. ... I would love to play with Ishikawa. That would be awesome. The Japanese always bring enthusiasm and enthusiasm is what wins."
And Ogilvy made those comments on Saturday, before Ishikawa won the Fujisankei Classic, his third victory of the year on the Japan Tour. The win moved the 17-year-old high school student back to the top of the Japan Tour money list.
International captain Greg Norman and United States captain Fred Couples will announce their two captain's picks each on Tuesday. Norman's assistant, Frank Nobilo, said a week ago that Ishikawa deserved strong consideration, citing the lack of international players outside the Top 10 automatic qualifiers who are making any kind of strong case for themselves.

A couple weeks ago I said picking Ishikawa would be stupid sensationalism. A great media story, sure, but the kid’s bombed in his ventures outside Japan.
Right now, however, it doesn’t look so bad. His recent stellar form has landed him 3rd on the OWGR list, behind Sabbatini and J. Singh, who have not been playing well. Behind Ishikawa you have Thongchai Jaidee — my #1 pick based on consistency, current form, and historical signifance (first Thai in the P-cup.) And behind Jaidee you have Adam Scott (major slump) and Mathew Goggin (not so inspirational a pick, no offense to Goggin.) Long story short: Ishikawa’s looking better and better.
Anybody would be a good pick except A. Scott — who has been stinking up the joint regularly. Something is obviously off with him right now.
