Kim Kouwabunpat's "Big Break PEI" Diary - Episode 7

Tuesday June 2, 2009
big break diary (Editor's Note: Kim Kouwabunpat was a contestant on the Golf Channel series "Big Break Prince Edward Island," which airs on Monday nights. Yay for Aaron! I was happy to see that he finally won immunity and put a little cash in his pocket. You could tell that all the eliminations he survived really took a toll on him. It truly sucks to be in an Elimination Challenge.

Episode 7 was a tough show to watch with Eugene tearing himself down with his negativity. He's a great golfer and I hope to see him out there soon. Eugene, remember that you did once shoot a 59!

You have to love the harsh twists that the producers like to throw into the mix - like when Aaron had to decide who would take the next "do-or-die" shot into the circle. So he picks Derek. Perfect. If Derek hits it into the circle, he's immune; if he doesn't, it's straight to Elimination! Who knew this show could be so dang dramatic?! I love it.

At this point in the production, those of us who were eliminated in earlier episodes were enjoying a chill day of golf at Rodd Mill River. As we drove around in our golf carts, we were told to avoid the cameras and the locations of the shoot. Since there were six of us, we divided ourselves into teams of three and played a best-ball match. I'm pretty sure Team Bunz brought home the victory!

Well, this week I'm in Seattle competing in the Washington Women's Open. I watched "BBPEI" Episode 7 at home of my gracious host family, the Russells. They have to be one of the coolest families to stay with: They have great taste in music, know how to eat, have the cutest dogs to play with and we always share a ton of laughs. Thanks guys!

I'm excited to say that on Monday at the Washington Women's Open my team won the pro-am. Hopefully that is a great sign for a top finish this week!

Off to the first tee for me ...
