Mickelson Posts Update on Wife's Cancer Diagnosis

Thursday May 28, 2009
An update from Phil Mickelson about his wife Amy's breast cancer diagnosis was posted on Phil's official Web site today. And it included some possible good news:

We have a wonderful team of doctors helping us and it is believed that we caught this early.

The Mickelsons, Phil writes, are "anxiously waiting for a number of test results that will help guide us in the best possible direction."

Meanwhile, in a show of support for Amy and Phil, the The PGA Tour Wives Association, PGA Tour officials, and tournament officials are urging golfers at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial to wear pink during the third round on Saturday. They are calling it a "Pink Out."

Phil and Amy,
I am a two time breast cancer survivor. Stay strong for each other. Our husbands usually want to fix things for us, but this is one thing they can’t fix. Keep the line of communication strong. Amy, my prayers will be with you. You keep fighter, follow the doctors directives, and never quit asking questions. God Bless you both. One of my favorites is–The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you. God Bless! Kathy
