Daly Goes Pink to Honor Amy Mickelson

john daly amy mickelson A pink ribbon is the universal symbol of breast cancer awareness. Today, John Daly took it a step farther by donning pink pants to show his support for Amy Mickelson. Mickelson, wife of Phil Mickelson, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She will begin treatment soon with major surgery.

Daly, playing the final round of the BMW PGA Championship on the European Tour, told The Associated Press:

"I had a pair, so I figured I'd do that for her today. I thought it would be a good gesture. I know Phil very well and I know Amy. I've known them for a long time - we've played the Tour together. She's a great lady. She has always been a sweetheart to everybody."

Daly has had way more than his share of trouble over the years, most of it self-inflicted, but his kindness and generosity of spirit have never been questioned.

Daly indicated there was a history of breast cancer in his family.
