This Week: Bob Hope Classic

Monday January 19, 2009
It's a big week for the PGA Tour Bob Hope Classic. First, it's always a big deal when Arnold Palmer hosts your tournament, as he does at the Hope this week. Second, it's the tournament's 50th anniversary.

Yep, the Hope has been played 49 times before, dating back to 1960. And who won that first tournament? Hint: He's now the host. Yep, Arnie.

D.J. Trahan is the defending champ. Anthony Kim is the biggest name in the field, but Fred Couples makes an appearance this week. So does David Duval, who shot his 59 here in 1999.

Check out the Bob Hope Classic profile page for the list of past champions and other tourney info.

Update: Anthony Kim has withdrawn from the field.
