Guess What? Golf Is Good For You

A new scientific study quantifies the benefits of playing golf by measuring calories burned and miles walked when using different modes of transportation. For example, what is the difference in miles walked when riding in a golf cart compared to not using a cart? How about in calories burned?

And are the physical benefits of golf enough to conclude that golf is a healthy activity that can improve one's physical fitness?

Another part of the study looked at the effect on golfers' scores of different ways of transporting the golf bag (e.g., on a push cart, by using a caddie, riding in a cart, or by lugging the bag yourself). The results might surprise you.
