PGA Tour Completes 2009 Schedule ... Almost

The 2009 PGA Tour schedule neared completion today with the release of the Fall Series portion of the tournament docket. The Fall Series schedule joins the full Fed Ex Cup series schedule released earlier.

We say the schedule "neared completion" because there is still one tournament missing. The PGA Tour is still trying to find a tournament for the No. 5-8, 2009, dates on the Fall Series schedule, an event that would follow the Viking Classic and precede the season-ending Children’s Miracle Network Classic.

The 2009 Fall Series includes six tournaments (counting the TBA event) and begins with the Turning Stone Resort Championship Oct. 1-4. The Fall Series then skips a week while the Presidents Cup is played.

The Valero Texas Open is not a part of the Fall Series in 2009; it moved to a Fed Ex Cup Series date in the Spring. Also, the Ginn sur Mer Classic is discontinued.
