The 2008 PGA Tour Q-School ended Monday after six grueling days. Twenty-eight golfers survived the marathon to earn tour cards for 2009.

Leading the way was veteran Harrison Frazar, whose 59 in the fourth round highlighted an 8-stroke victory. The medalist posted rounds of 69, 64, 72, 59, 69 and 67 for a 32-under total of 400.

Other veterans among the 28 survivors included John Huston, Robert Garrigus, Notah Begay III, Ted Purdy, Chris Riley and Mathias Gronberg.

Perhaps the biggest surprise among the qualifiers was former "Big Break Mesquite" contestant James Nitties. Nitties was consistent throughout, remaining near the top of the leaderboard after climbing into the lead with a second-round 63. He finished tied for second with Derek Fathauer, whose claim to fame to date has been the distinction, with brother Daryl, of being twins playing in the same PGA Tour event (the 2007 Ginn sur Mer Classic, when they were still amateurs and on the University of Louisville golf team).

Another player from this class to keep an eye on is Jimmy Walker, who led the Nationwide Tour in money several years back, then suffered a neck injury in the first event of his PGA Tour rookie season and is just now getting back into form. Walker was tabbed as a real up-and-comer before his injury woes, and may yet pay off on his potential.

In addition to the golfers already mentioned, these players also earned PGA Tour cards for 2009: Chris Stroud, David Berganio Jr., Webb Simpson, James Oh, Glen Day, Matthew Borchert, Jason Dufner, Troy Kelly, Tyler Aldridge, Gary Woodland, Brian Vranesh, Y.E. Yang, Leif Olson, Aaron Watkins, Kent Jones, Bob Heintz, Jay Williamson, Wil Collins.
