Choosing the Correct Set of Tees

Thursday December 4, 2008
Most golf courses have a minimum of three sets of tees (forward/middle/back or red/white/blue). Some courses have five, six or even seven sets of tees. Regardless of what the tees are called, or how they are colored, playing from the right set of tees - the set whose total yardage best matches your skill level - is important. It can make your round more enjoyable and help keep the pace of play brisk.

But how do you choose the right set of tees for your game? Fact is, many recreational golfers play from tees that are too long. For some guidelines, check out the FAQ, "Which set of tees on the tee box should I use?"

I don’t to whom to write with the following comment. I’ve tried to use the About Golf handicap calculator but half the screen, including the boxes I needed to input scores, was blocked by advertising with no way to close the advertising. HELP!!!

Must be one of those ads that automatically expands if you accidentally roll the cursor over it. There should be a “close” and/or an “x” symbol in one of the corners of the expanded ad that you can click on to close.
