Second LPGA Q-School Sectional Wraps Up

Friday October 3, 2008
The first sectional qualifier for LPGA Q-School got all the attention; it had Michelle Wie and Stacy Lewis in the field, after all. The second one, which began Tuesday and concluded today, didn't have any big names in the field, but like the first, it, too, sends the Top 30 finishers on to the LPGA Qualifying Tournament finals, Dec. 3-7 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Chella Choi earned medalist honors at the sectional that finished today in Venice, Fla. Choi, an 18-year-old Korean in her rookie year as a professional, played the Futures Tour in 2008 and finished 17th on the money list. Among the players in this sectional, Choi probably has the highest upside.

Others who will move on to Q-School finals include Ladies European Tour member Bea Recari; former LPGA players Janell Howland and Hae-Jung Kim; and "Big Break X: Michigan" contestant Andrea VanderLende.
