This Week: BMW Championship

Tuesday September 2, 2008
The BMW Championship is the oldest non-major on the PGA Tour, dating to the 19th century. But for nearly all that long history, it was known as the Western Open. And for much of its early history, this event was a major - one of the top three or four professional tournaments in the world - although those early tournaments have never been credited as majors by the PGA Tour.

Now the BMW Championship is part of the FedEx Cup playoffs, the third of four tournaments leading to the Tour Championship. Check out our BMW Championship tournament profile page to view the (very long) list of past winners, plus other tourney info and trivia.
