Vijay Singh's Bridgestone Win Marks 20 After 40

Sunday August 3, 2008
Most golfers in PGA Tour history never come close to winning 20 tournaments. In fact, in the long history of the tour, only 36 golfers have won 20 or more tournaments.

Vijay Singh now has 20 wins ... after turning 40. Singh's putting was shaky down the stretch at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational - but it was more solid than Phil Mickelson's driving. Mickelson bogied three of the last four holes to fall away, and Singh held off Lee Westwood and Stuart Appleby for the win.

For Singh, it's win No. 20 in his 40s, and yes, that's the record for most PGA Tour wins after turning 40. And it's career PGA Tour win No. 32 overall for Singh, which ties him with Horton Smith for 14th place on the all-time wins list, two victories behind Mickelson.
