Halle Berry New "Ambassador" for Callaway Golf Foundation Initiative

Sunday July 27, 2008
halle berry - callaway golf foundation The Callaway Golf Foundation Women's Cancer Initiative is a joint effort by the Callaway Golf Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation to raise awareness and funds in the battle against ovarian cancer.

Last year Eva Longoria served as the spokesperson. The Callaway Golf Foundation recently announced that the new "ambassador" is Halle Berry, who will appear "in an extensive print public service announcement campaign this summer aimed at raising awareness and funds to help find a cure for ovarian cancer."

In the news release announcing her new role, Berry is quoted:

"As a daughter and a new mother, I was shocked to learn the facts about ovarian cancer. That's why I’ve teamed with the Callaway Golf Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation to educate women about taking care of their health."

Among those facts: ovarian cancer afflicts more than 22,000 women in the U.S. each year, costing 15,000 lives per year.
