U.S. Open Sectional Qualifiers

Monday was U.S. Open sectional qualifying day. The last chance for nearly all golfers not already qualified for the 2008 U.S. Open to get into that field. And the list of players who failed to qualify on Monday included many big names, even some major champions. And the list of players who succeeded included - along with the usual big names and major champions - a lot of golfers just living the dream.

Here's a short list of some of the better-known qualifiers and non-qualifiers from Monday's sectionals:

The 2008 U.S. Open takes place next week, June 12-15, at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, Calif.
