LPGA Going to China in October

Tuesday April 29, 2008
We may be several months into the 2008 season, but the LPGA is still adding tournaments. Today, the LPGA announced the creation of a new tournament in China, the Grand China Air LPGA.

The Grand China Air LPGA joins the October schedule and is slotted between the Kapalua LPGA Classic in Hawaii and the Korea Championship (in Korea, natch). The final six weeks of the LPGA schedule now takes the players - or at least those who qualify for the short-field tournaments - to Hawaii, China, Korea, Japan, Mexico and finally back to the U.S. for the season-ending ADT Championship.

The Grand China Air LPGA will have a field of 63 players, 12 of them selected by the tournament sponsors and organizers, the other 51 coming from the LPGA money list.
