Want to Caddie for Phil Mickelson?
Caddy For A Cure was founded by former PGA Tour caddie Russ Holden. The organization auctions off the opportunity for regular golf fans to caddie for PGA Tour pros during a practice day at a PGA Tour event, and the money raised benefits the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, the PGA Tour Caddie Benevolent Fund, the PGA Tour player's charity of choice, and the PGA Tour host site's charity of choice.
Three golfers are taking part in the program at the FBR Open in Scottsdale, Ariz., on the practice day of Jan. 29. Phil Mickelson, Daniel Chopra and Brett Wetterich are the three golfers "up for auction." The auction winners meet the player before the practice round, then tote the bag for that player during the round. The players' usual caddies are there, too, to help guide you (in Mickelson's case, that means you'll also be hanging out with one of the best-known caddies on Tour, Bones MacKay).
So: Want to caddie for Phil Mickelson? Or Daniel Chopra or Brett Wetterich? Check out the Caddy For A Cure auction page on eBay, or visit the Caddy For A Cure homepage for more info. All three FBR Open auctions close on Monday, so get your bid in quick. And visit the Caddy For A Cure site for more opportunities throughout the year.
