How would you like to shoot 56? No, we don't mean for nine holes. Or at miniature golf. We're talking a 15-under-par round of 56.
A club professional named Jay Osmon did just that on Sept. 5 at Cattails Golf Club in Alamosa, Colo., where he works as the assistant pro. Osmon recorded a 26 on the front nine and a 30 on the back nine.
Osmon also held the previous club record at the course, a 62 that he shattered by six strokes. His round of 56 came while playing with club members from tees at around 6,000 yards in length.
