Woods Wins No. 60, Takes FedEx Lead

Sunday September 9, 2007
Tiger Woods won for the fourth time in his career at the BMW Championship (formerly the Western Open) on Sunday, and for the 60th time overall in his PGA Tour career. And in so doing, he took the lead in the FedEx Cup points chase heading into the final tournament of the series, the Tour Championship.

Here are how the FedEx Cup points standings look following Woods' victory at the BMW Championship:

Tiger Woods, 112,733
Steve Stricker, 109,600
Phil Mickelson, 108,612
Rory Sabbatini, 103,587
K.J. Choi, 103,100

Only the Top 5 are listed because only these five players have a mathematical chance of winning the FexEx Cup. All other players at the Tour Championship are mathematically eliminated.

Woods won the BMW Championship with a final-round 63, which tied the tournament record for low 18 hole score. And he shattered the overall tournament scoring record with a 262 total, five strokes better than the previous total.

The victory is career win No. 60 Woods, putting him just 22 wins away from tying Sam Snead's all-time record.
