Masters: Only Three Players Under Par after Second Round

Friday April 6, 2007
Scores continued climbing in the second round of The Masters. At the beginning of the day there were nine players under par; at the end of the day, only three golfers were under par:

Brett Wetterich, -2
Tim Clark, -2
Vaughn Taylor, -1

Wetterich, also the first-round co-leader, shot 73 Friday, Clark shot 71 and Taylor 72. Justin Rose, who shared the Day 1 lead with Wetterich, shot 75 to fall into the group at even-par, which also includes Vijay Singh:

Jerry Kelly, E
Vijay Singh, E
Zach Johnson, E
Justin Rose, E

Padraig Harrington, who opened with a 77, shot 68 on Friday to move into the group at 1-over:

David Howell, +1
Lucas Glover, +1
Padraig Harrington, +1
Bradley Dredge, +1
Stuart Appleby, +1
Geoff Ogilvy, +1

Jim Furyk is alone at 2-over. Tiger Woods had a 74 and is among a large group at 3-over. Phil Mickelson shot 73 and is 5-over - a score that's still good enough to get Lefty into the Top 30 after Day 2.

With Augusta playing so tough, just about anyone who made the cut is still in the running. The cutline was 8-over, and some big names didn't make it:

Missed the Cut
Chris DiMarco, +9
Chad Campbell, +10
Ernie Els, +10
Sergio Garcia, +10
Robert Allenby, +15
Camilo Villegas, +21
