Front-Nine Struggles for Mickelson, Els

Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els got off to slow starts at The Masters on Thursday, Mickelson completing his front nine with a 40 and Els with a 41. Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh, teeing off later in the day, opened with a par and a birdie, respectively.

The lowest round completed as of this writing is 1-under, turned in by Tim Clark, Vaughn Taylor and Zach Johnson.
