Thank goodness John Daly hasn't yet embraced this trend.
But Ladies European Tour golfer Sophie Sandolo has, and the 2007 Sophie Sandolo Calendar is now ready for purchase.
This is the third such calendar from Sandolo, a sometime-model whose calendars and photo shoots often include nudity. That would scandalize in America, but the Europeans (and just about everyone else outside the U.S.) aren't so hung up about displaying the body (again, thank goodness John Daly is American).
Of course, Europeans - even the golfers - often bring a much more artistic (some would say surrealistic) tack to their projects. Witness the wings that Sandolo is wearing in the photo above, or just about any pair of Ian Poulter's pants.
If you want to know more about Sandolo, check out her LET profile. If you are interested in ordering her calendar, visit her Web site (but perhaps not from your workplace computer, since there is nudity ... I, however, only visit Sophie's Web site for the articles). Here on About.com, we have a gallery of Sophie Sandolo pictures from the golf course.
The 2007 Natalie Gulbis calendar features a mix of photos including Natalie in her golf attire, in workout clothes, in formal wear, in casual wear, and yes, in bikinis. Like Sandolo, this is the third time that Gulbis has released a calendar. Ordering information is available on Gulbis' Web site.
Meanwhile, I learned today that the "Top Shots: Women of Professional Golf 2007 Calendar" featuring golfers from the Australian Ladies Professional Tour is not selling quite as hotly as hoped. That's a shame, because this calendar benefits some very good causes, including the McGrath Foundation, a breast cancer awareness organization.
Some of you may be disappointed that we've run only one photo in this post about sexy golf calendars. Not to worry - we'll tell you where to find more. Check out the blog called Golf Babes, which has run a half-dozen or so photos from the "Top Shots" calendar as well as several from the 2007 Gulbis calendar.
All these calendars are great for the guys to ogle, but what about our female readers? Are there any beefcake calendars out there with a golf theme? Sadly, ladies, neither Adam Scott nor Camilo Villegas has yet made a calendar. But as soon as they do, we'll let you know.
