A few of the latest items in the golf equipment pipeline:

• A forged game-improvement set is what KZG's CB III Irons are being touted as, clubs intended to offer both forgiveness and workability. Like all of KZG's forgings, the CB III irons are double-forged for softer feel and workability. But they also have all the usual game-improvement features: oversized body, cavity back, moderate offset, wider soler with a lower center of gravity, perimeter weighting. The softer metal used in the forgings also makes adjustments on loft and lie machines easier. KZG Web site

• The latest addition to Cleveland Golf's HiBore lineup is the HiBore Hybrid. With its inverted crown and Thin Crown Technology, the HiBore Hybrid's MOI is increased by moving "saved" weight to the back and rear. As its name implies, the technology and weighting are designed to get the ball airborne quicker for a higher, boring trajectory. The Cleveland HiBore Hybrid began shipping today with an MSRP of $235 with graphite shaft or $210 with steel shaft. More info

• Think of the Micro J from Sun Mountain as a "jacket in a jar." This waterproof outerwear rolls up and fits inside a plastic container that isn't so much larger than a sleeve of balls. The lightweight Micro J is designed for play on warm but wet days, and comes with a 1-year waterproof guarantee. The MSRP is $53.99. More info
