Consumer Reports recently posted the results of its golf ball testing, which included 25 balls. Each ball was rated in five categories - driver distance, driver accuracy, 8-iron accuracy, 8-iron spin, and soft feel - to come up with an overall score.

The top five golf balls, according to Consumer Reports, are:

1. Nike One Black
2. Nike Power Distance Super Soft
3. Callaway HX Tour 56
4. Titleist Pro V1
5. Titleist Pro V1x

The Nike Power Distance Super Soft received the "CR Best Buy" designation (for good performance and low cost), as did the Pinnacle Gold Distance, Precept Lady and Pinnacle Exception.

Been using those powersoft nikes.
Can’t tell ‘em from the titleist nxt tours! like puttin a marshmallow, long and straight off the driver, bites like a pitbull hittin’ the greens. for less than 20 bux a box, you won’t beat’em.

I was just turned on to the Nike PDSoft’s. I completely agree with Joel, I am switching from NXT’s. Only played 2 rounds so far and just switched irons so I can’t comment on the greenside spin. But they go far and put so much nicer than Callaways…they feel like clankey rocks to me!
