Latest TaylorMade Tour Irons Ready for the Rest of Us

Tuesday April 11, 2006
taylormade rac mb tp irons Retief Goosen already has two wins with them, and Fred Funk, among other members of the TaylorMade Tour Staff, has been playing with them since last year. But on May 1, when they hit retail outlets, the rest of us will be able to check out the TaylorMade rac MB TP irons.

As you probably know from the "TP" designation, which stands for "Tour Preferred," these are players irons from TaylorMade. The thin, blade-style topline and fuller, modified muscleback are two elements of their design.

The rac MB TP irons are forged from carbon steel and offer minimal offset and a high center of gravity. The higher CG and other elements help produce a lower, more controlled ball flight, and additional workability for low-handicappers.

These irons come with a Tour Satin finish, milled face and grooves, plus larger rac "feel pockets" designed to soften the feel and sound at impact. They also offer the Tour bounce configuration, with a leading edge that minimizes digging and a softer trailing edge.

The TaylorMade rac MB TP irons come with frequency-matched Rifle Flighted steel shafts in 6.5, 6.0 and 5.0 flexes, but custom shaft options will also be available. The MSRP on this set (3-PW) is $1,240.
