Good Start for "Big Break V"
Tuesday February 7, 2006
"The Big Break V" debuted on The Golf Channel Tuesday night, and it got off to a pretty good start. This series already seems faster-paced and more crisp than the previous installment ... but perhaps that's because "Big Break IV" was so uninspired.
Eleven contestants started the show, but unlike in previous seasons, one contestant was sent packing in the first episode. That contestant was Jo D. Duncan, who lost a playoff to Nikki DiSanto.
The Golf Channel might have found its next Danielle Amiee in DiSanto: the model/actress/long-drive competitor was portrayed as an intense, fiery presence on the course (she had to be bleeped twice), one who didn't appreciate being challenged. And did we mention she's a model? But unlike (in my opinion) Amiee, DiSanto appeared very personable and likeable in her interview segments.
