Europe's lead entering the final day of the Ryder Cup is the largest after team matches in the event's history. With a 3-1 edge in afternoon foursomes on Saturday, Europe leads the U.S., 11-5, going into Sunday singles. Europe needs only to win 3 of the 12 available points on Sunday to retain the Cup. The previous largest lead entering the final day of Ryder Cup play was the 10.5-5.5 lead Europe took into singles play in 1987. And the largest comeback victory in singles was from four points down in 1999, when the U.S. overcame a 10-6 deficit for the victory.
